Raxtus

Raxtus is a sweet and easy pet. He looks forward to his daily walks and loves being outside! He's very independent and will "walk" himself if he can get out of the yard, but he comes home. Raxtus likes to be dominant, and we think he'd be happier as an only dog. He has growled and bit our other dogs over toys, food, and people. He has only done those things to us during the adjustment period when he was getting to know us and was usually scared or startled, but quickly backed down when he realized he was safe. Raxtus is house and kennel trained. He'll sometimes go lay down in the kennel if he is chilly or just wants to be alone. He loves to cuddle and sleep. Although he is a bit older (10) he is healthy. New people and noises scare him. It is good to talk to him before/while petting when he first gets to know you - that way he won't be startled. He is terrified of fireworks, but seemed to do okay staying inside with a loud TV. We haven't been able to get Raxtus to play, although he has shown some interest. He spends most of his day sleeping in his bed or cuddled in our laps.
