Goblin

Goblin is a great dog struggling with resource guarding and counter surfing (a combination that has proved to be outside management in a home with many people coming in and out). He’s an absolute goof, very lighthearted most of the time, and loves to romp around (but listens when you tell him he’s being too much). I love him so much and losing him is breaking my heart. He is not fixed yet (just hit the vet and trainer recommended 14 months), not e-collar trained but familiar with both prongs and chains, he does pull on leash, and he listens very well to me in the house and out on walks but not in crowds. He has a couple spots in the house he marks but it only started after puberty and I think our unsealed wood floors are the main issue there, as well as him being intact. Extremely food motivated (you can treat him with no issue) and relatively low energy for his breed. He’s VERY cuddly and sweet, and loves tiny stuffed toys but will rip up bigger ones. Big fan of swimming in ponds and lakes and a great hiker. One additional issue that I need to note is that while he’s extremely well socialized (with all races, genders, etc) and has never displayed anything but happy excitement at anyone in our home or outside of it (and we have a LOT of people over), he decided that he hates my roommate’s boyfriend. Like lunging at the baby gate snarling and barking hates him. They insist nothing ever happened between them but it’s absolutely bizarre. I and my roommates can pick him up, manhandle him, and push him around no problem and he’s typically very submissive with everyone. I hope it’s not something that’ll carry onto anyone else but it’s something to be aware of.
